Spray program launched to prevent Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya

KARACHI, Oct 16 (APP):On the directives of Municipal Commissioner S.M. Afzal Zaidi, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Municipal Services Department has initiated a spray program in view of the rising cases of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. The fumigation drive will be carried out on October 17 and 18, 2025, in hospitals under KMC’s jurisdiction.
Under the program, 15 spray vehicles will conduct fumigation during the evening hours over the course of two days, with each vehicle covering one hospital per day.
During the operation, fumigation will be carried out at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases, Gadap, Gizri, Shah Faisal Cardiac Hospital, Lyari General Hospital, Spencer Eye Hospital, Landhi Medical Complex, and other KMC-run hospitals.
According to the Director of Fumigation at the Municipal Services Department, all hospital Medical Superintendents and Directors have been instructed to appoint an officer to supervise the fumigation process and submit a report to the department.
All in-charge MCPs will remain present at their respective hospitals during the drive to ensure effective monitoring of the fumigation operations.
