MIRPURKHAS, Jun 02 (APP): On the second day of the annual three-day mango exhibition, the Sindh Horticulture Research Institute Mirpurkhas organized the traditional game of Malakhra.
Chairman District Council Mir Anwar Ali Talpar was the chief guest at the ceremony while Commissioner Mirpurkhas Faisal Ahmad Uqaili, Additional Commissioner-I Dr Ali Nawaz Bhoot, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Sono Khan Chandio, Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas Dr. Rasheed Masood Khan, Chairman Mango Festival Management Committee Rais Arif Khan Bhurguri, high officials and people from different walks to life attended the event.
According to the handout issued by the Information Department here on Sunday, there was a competition between the Malh in which Imtiaz Marri won the first position in the first pair, Ghulam Hussain Pathan won the first position in the second pair, and Mashooque Marri won the first position in the third pair.
The prize of 15 thousand rupees was given to Imtiaz Marri, who got the position in the first pair, 10 thousand rupees to Ghulam Hussain Pathan, the second pair, and 8 thousand rupees to Mashooque Ali, the third pair. On this occasion, District Council Chairman Mir Anwar Talpur said that Malakhra is the traditional game of Sindh, and such programs should be organized so that the traditions of Sindh can be highlighted and the coming generations can gain awareness about the traditions of Sindh.
