RAWALPINDI, May 31 (APP):City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has devised a special plan to maintain traffic flow near cattle markets set up for Eid-ul-Azha.
According to CTP spokesman, over 74 traffic personnel, including circle officers, sector in-charges, wardens and traffic assistants, have been deployed across the city and surrounding areas.
The traffic plan chalked out various locations where cattle markets have been established. These include Bhatta Chowk Rawalpindi, Mauza Ranyal on Chakri Road, Galiana Road in Gujjar Khan, Tangi Road in Kahuta, Mangal Bypass in Kallar Syedan, HIT Athar Bazaar in Taxila, and near Sharif Hospital Stop on GT Road, Wah Cantt.
Special duties have been assigned around these markets to clear traffic jams and stop wrong parking.
The traffic wardens will also guide citizens to follow safety rules while buying and selling animals.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Beenish Fatima, urged citizens to park their vehicles only in the areas designated for parking.
She also appealed people not to buy or sell livestock on the roads and to fully cooperate with traffic staff.
A traffic helpline (051-9274843) has also been made active to help citizens in case of any traffic-related issues.
