Special anti-polio drive to vaccinate 782,252 children in Multan
MULTAN, Sep 01 (APP):A special anti-polio campaign will be launched across Multan district from September 21 to 24 to administer polio drops to 782,252 children under five years of age.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem, which reviewed in detail preparations for the campaign, formation of teams and arrangements to ensure its effective implementation.
A total of 4,399 teams have been formed for the campaign, including 4,021 mobile teams, 230 fixed teams and 148 transit teams, the DC said.
He added that 833 area in-charges and 135 UC medical officers would also perform monitoring duties to ensure effective supervision of polio teams and maximum coverage of children.
Dr Faisal Saleem said, a comprehensive strategy had been devised to ensure that every child below the age of five received polio drops. He stressed that eradication of polio was a national responsibility and urged parents to ensure that their children were administered the drops to save them from crippling disease
