LAHORE, Jun 26 (APP):The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) remained fully mobilized on Youm-e-Ashura (10th Muharram) to ensure cleanliness arrangements along procession routes and at venues hosting majalis across the city.
According to officials,SPAL teams carried out extensive sanitation operations on the traditional routes of the central Ashura procession to facilitate mourners.
Under the directives of Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din, the agency ensured cleanliness arrangements for 47 processions and 227 majalis held across Lahore.
More than 320 sanitation workers were deployed under the special Muharram cleanliness operation for cleaning Imambargahs, procession routes and surrounding areas.
Special teams also remained stationed along the routes of six major processions in different parts of the city.
The cleaning operation covered key routes,including Mochi Gate to Karbala Gamay Shah,Shadman to Shah Jamal,Pando Street in Islampura to Old Anarkali,Ali Raza Abad in Raiwind and Thokar village.
SPAL teams remained active throughout the day to ensure uninterrupted sanitation services during Ashura processions and gatherings.
Separately,special cleanliness drives were also carried out around major graveyards, including Miani Sahib Graveyard, Baba Jameel Shah Graveyard in Shahdara, Mughlia Graveyard,Kashmiri Graveyard in Baghbanpura,Basti Syedan Shah Graveyard, Boharwala Graveyard and Mian Mir Graveyard near Baradari.
Officials said the cleanliness operation continued until the conclusion of all processions and religious gatherings.
In line with the Suthra Punjab vision of Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz, sanitation arrangements had been in place since the start of Muharram at 121 major Imambargahs across Lahore.
The agency also urged citizens to cooperate with sanitation staff and report complaints via helpline 1139 or official social media platforms.
