PESHAWAR, Jan 19 (APP):In a continued crackdown against those spreading obscenity, lawlessness, and moral corruption in society, senior police officials have taken strict notice of the use of indecent, unethical, and socially unacceptable language on social media and initiated effective action.
In this regard, SHO Gulbahar Police Station, Saleem Khalil, along with the women police, conducted a successful operation and arrested a woman identified as Sonia Shah, wife of Dadu Shah, resident of Gulbahar No. 4, Ejaz Abad.
She was involved in using social media to promote obscenity and encourage immoral behavior among the public. The arrested woman had already been warned to refrain from uploading such immoral contents on social media.
According to police on Monday, the accused woman had uploaded a video on social media which went viral, in which she made an irresponsible claim about opening a dance club in Peshawar and used indecent language.
The video was termed a clear violation of social values and the laws of the country.
A case has been registered against her under relevant laws and further investigation is underway.
Capital City Police Peshawar reaffirmed their commitment to taking all possible measures to protect the moral, social and legal fabric of the society.
