LAHORE, Oct 03 (APP):In view of the smog in Punjab, the School Education Department has taken emergency measures to protect students.
SED official sources told APP that instructions have been issued to suspend outdoor activities and sports in schools during smog days, and it has been decided to launch an awareness campaign for teachers, parents and students to protect them from smog.
The Education Department has directed school heads to keep classrooms clean and ventilate, a complete ban on burning garbage in schools, and arrangements for waste disposal have been made mandatory.
Instructions have been given to keep medical records of students suffering from asthma and heart disease, a focal person has been nominated in each district, and an emergency communication system with the Health Department has also been activated.
