BAHAWALPUR, Dec 14 (APP): A person was killed, and five others were injured when a passenger wagon collided with a trailer blocking the National Highway in the Ahmadpur East area.
According to the Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, a trailer loaded with motorcycles attempted to make a U-turn towards Ahmadpur, blocking the entire road. An APV passenger wagon traveling from Khanqah to Multan failed to spot the trailer due to dense fog and crashed into it.
Rescue officials said there were six passengers in the APV. Five managed to escape the vehicle, while one man, who sustained a severe head injury, remained trapped inside. Rescue teams carried out an operation to extricate him; however, he had already succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was identified as Mubeen, while the injured — Tanveer, Danish, Waseem, and Ashfaq, were provided first aid at the scene and later shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
