KARACHI, Dec 18 (APP):The two day 3rd Global Research Congress (GRC-2025), organized by Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) was successfully concluded here on Thursday with action-oriented recommendations.
The event was a landmark two-day academic gathering that brought together national and international scholars, policymakers, faculty members, industry experts, and students to deliberate on contemporary national and international challenges.
Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo lauded the SMIU’s academic growth and assured government support for research-based policymaking, encouraging the university to formally share key outcomes with the Government of Sindh. He also highlighted the historic role SMIU played in modern education in the region and said that due to an alma mater of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the SMIU occupied a special place in the hearts of countrymen. He said that the Sindh government was sincerely making efforts for quality education on all levels, including higher education.
Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Chairman of the Charter Inspection and Evolution Committee, also lauded the SMIU for organizing such an international event that will promote research culture in the country. He also appreciated Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahari for his efforts in promoting quality education and research culture.
In his concluding remarks, Vice-Chancellor of SMIU Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai highlighted that the Global Research Congress has become a flagship academic brand of SMIU. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to sharing and following up on research recommendations at national and international levels. He thanked all the national and international guests who participated in the GRC. Dr. Sahrai said SMIU’s every step is toward betterment, and the main objective of organizing these conferences is to encourage faculty, researchers, and youth to take research work for the development of the country.
International keynote speaker Dr. Paul McEvoy, Dublin Business School, Ireland appreciated the academic rigor of the Congress and praised Pakistan’s hospitality, expressing interest in future institutional collaborations.
During the concluding session, Convener of the 3rd GRC 2025, Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, presented report of the two days of the congress and conferences and key recommendations. He informed that more than 400 research papers were received, out of which 228 peer-reviewed papers were presented in multiple parallel technical sessions. The discussions generated valuable insights and practical recommendations across disciplines including Artificial Intelligence, climate change, sustainable development, education, media, business, and social sciences.
The Congress recommended the formulation of ethical national AI frameworks, promotion of renewable energy, green urban planning, and eco-housing and greater use of AI and data analytics in public health, governance, and climate risk management.
The Congress concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing ethical research, inclusive education, and sustainable development through future editions of the Global Research Congress.
