HYDERABAD, Dec 17 (APP):An important meeting of Pro Vice-Chancellors, focal persons and deans was held under the chair of Vice-Chancellor University of Sindh, Jamshoro Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Mari, during which key decisions were taken including the announcement of winter vacations from December 29, 2025, to January 16, 2026.
According to a university spokesperson,the meeting was held at the senate hall of the VC secretariat, where the Vice-Chancellor said that from the next semester onward, strict enforcement of student attendance would be ensured and a minimum of 75 percent attendance would be mandatory to appear in examinations.
He directed that teachers would be bound to mark class attendance online on a daily basis so that absentee students could be identified and their parents informed accordingly.
The Vice-Chancellor further said that faculty members were responsible for submitting examination results immediately after each semester’s examinations, adding that no delay would be tolerated in this regard.
He warned that teachers who were habitual in submitting examination results late could, in future, be replaced by other faculty members for conducting examinations of their courses.
The meeting unanimously decided that winter vacations would commence from December 29, 2025, and conclude on January 16, 2026. Faculty members of various departments were directed to submit the results of ongoing second semester examinations by January 20, 2026. However, faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Art and Design and departments involving thesis projects would be allowed to submit results by February 15.
The meeting was attended by Pro Vice-Chancellor main campus Professor Dr Abdul Sattar Shah, Pro Vice-Chancellor Thatta Campus Professor Dr Misbah Bibi Qureshi, Registrar Sajid Qayoom Memon along with other focal persons and deans.
