Sindh Senior Minister visits markets to check price control

HYDERABAD, Mar 01 (APP):The Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon visited several markets here on Sunday to check the price control mechanism of the authorities during the month of Ramazan.
He checked the prices of fruit, vegetables, wheat, sugar, milk, meat and chicken in various markets.
During his visit he strictly directed the district administration to ensure that the official price list of the edible items was implemented.
The Senior Minister witnessed that some shopkeepers were not displaying the official rate list while the others were charging prices which were higher than the government approved rates.
Memon interacted with the citizens and heard their complaints about the exorbitant prices.
He emphasized that the government could not allow profiteering and stockpiling and that too during the holy month of Ramazan.
The Senior Minister said the provincial government was taking all measures to provide relief to the people in Ramazan and to ensure that the people could buy the edible items at affordable prices.
“Ramazan is a holy month. It is said that it is made a means of illegal profiteering [by traders],” he lamented.
