SUKKUR, Nov 06 (APP): The Secretary Population Welfare Department of Sindh, Hafizullah Abbasi, has reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to providing high-quality, transparent, and easily accessible family planning services in every district.
He made these remarks while chairing a high-level meeting of the Technical Committee on Family Planning Services in Sukkur here on Thursday.
The meeting, attended by senior officials from the health and population welfare departments, focused on improving service delivery, strengthening inter-departmental coordination, and reviewing progress in the field. The participants were briefed on the status of family planning services in Sukkur, including service coverage, data reporting, and stock management.
Abbasi emphasized that family planning is a crucial component of social and economic development, and that the government needs to strengthen its data systems, supply management, and monitoring tools to ensure transparency and improved service delivery. The meeting decided to conduct joint field visits to enhance service quality, accountability, and public satisfaction.
The Director General of Health Sindh, Dr Waqar Memon, and other senior officials from the health and population welfare departments attended the meeting, along with representatives from PPHI, Sindh Healthcare Commission, and other relevant departments.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks and a gesture of cultural hospitality, as District Population Welfare Officer Sukkur, Mir Javed Ali Talpur, presented traditional Sindhi Ajrak and Topi to the participants.
