KARACHI, Feb 23 (APP): The Sindh government has imposed a ban on holding examinations during Holi Week and Easter. In view of the sacred days of the Christian community, all educational boards in the province have been instructed not to schedule any exams from April 2 to April 6, 2026.
According to Provincial Minister for Universities, Muhammad Ismail Rahu, this decision was made on the directive of the Chief Minister of Sindh following a request from Reverend Father Mario A. Rodrigues, Principal of St. Patrick’s High School, Karachi. The Chief Minister ordered the change of exam dates out of respect for the religious sentiments of the Christian community.
Minister Ismail Rahu clarified that no exam will be conducted from Thursday, April 2, to April 6, 2026. All postponed or newly scheduled exams will resume from Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
He further instructed that educational boards which have already issued timetables must immediately make the necessary amendments and release a revised schedule. Chairpersons of all educational boards must ensure implementation of the decision and submit compliance reports to the department so that the Chief Minister’s Secretariat can be informed.
