KARACHI, Jan 18 (APP): Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken strict notice of the fire incident at Gul Plaza shopping mall on M.A. Jinnah Road of the metropolis, here Sunday.
The Chief Minister directed the Commissioner Karachi to conduct an immediate inquiry into the incident. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives caused by the fire.
The Commissioner Karachi has been instructed to determine the causes of the fire and submit a detailed report.
The CM directed to carry out inspection of fire safety arrangements in the building. Murad ordered strict enforcement of fire safety laws.
He directed that action be taken against those responsible if negligence or carelessness is proven.
The Chief Minister Sindh also directed that the injured be provided with the best possible medical facilities. He also directed to conduct a fire safety audit of commercial buildings in Karachi immediately.
