KARACHI, Jul 28 (APP):Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of a tragic murder of a girl in Kandiyaro due to her love marriage. He has directed the Inspector General of Police and the Chief Secretary to submit a detailed report.
The CM condemned the killing in the name of customs and beliefs as utterly unacceptable. He ordered the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and strict legal action against them.
Shah made it clear that those delivering verdicts under the name of jirga (tribal council) are also criminals. He stated that killings of women in the name of honour would never be tolerated.
The CM assured the family of the deceased that justice will be delivered, emphasising that the government is committed to protecting women’s rights and ensuring their safety.
Meanwhile, Murad Shah has taken immediate notice of a railway track explosion near Jhamar Wah, close to Shikarpur. The blast caused three carriages of the Jaffar Express to derail at approximately 10:20 am.
The CM ordered the provision of immediate medical aid to the injured. Updates confirmed that multiple people were injured, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
Rescue teams and police arrived promptly at the site and continued their relief efforts. Rail traffic has been temporarily suspended on this route, affecting other train services.
