KARACHI, Dec 05 (APP): The Sindh Assembly Friday raised questions regarding Mines and Mineral Department.
The session of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh commenced with Speaker in the chair.
Speaking on the floor of the house, Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the government’s aim was neither to focus only on those constituencies where the PPP had won, nor to ignore the constituencies where the PPP had not won.
He said the buses running under the Sindh government belonged to the people and will be provided to them.
Memon said that work was underway on a major project under which buses will run on every major road.
He said the Tando Jam–Hyderabad bus service had been launched, and buses will be operated in all areas from Hattri to Haider Chowk, Latifabad, and Gadi Khata in Hyderabad as well. He added that the aim was to provide convenience to every area.
He said we all will have to move away from the mindset that a larger vehicle was always at fault in a collision between a bike and a trailer, and from the tendency to set a big vehicle on fire after an accident.
He said that although there was opposition to e-challan, the traffic system had to be improved. He said traffic management required case-by-case study, and the government was introducing strict laws to ensure people did not violate traffic rules and to prevent accidents.
Inviting the opposition, he said that they should visit government offices and give suggestions and the cities required collective effort. He said the government was accountable to both the opposition and the people, and everyone will have to work together.
Memon said that collective efforts will help improve conditions, and that the government was planning to launch a taxi service this month or next month. He added that opportunities must be created for people, along with providing them necessary facilities.
Replying to a question, he said that the batteries installed in EV buses come with a seven-year warranty.
