Significant breakthrough against flour smuggling in Talagang, Multiple International Illegal networks busted

TALAGANG, Jan 12 (APP):Owing to effective planning and coordinated teamwork under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner, Talagang, the  international organized flour-smuggling networks on Monday busted.
Timely and strict actions by the district administration had resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of illegally transported flour, a move expected to help overcome the shortage of flour in the area, the official sources said.
According to details, for several days, the flour smugglers had been attempting to illegally transport flour from various districts of Punjab via Talagang to Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Chakwal, Sarah Hayat Gondal, Assistant Commissioner, Suleman Manshah issued firm orders for immediate action.
In response, personnel from the Special Management Unit, Civil Defence, and the police were deployed at Al-Hasnain Chowk Talagang and adjoining roads.
During the operation, the teams acted swiftly and intercepted a container carrying approximately 2,500 bags of flour.
In a parallel operation, the Special Management Unit seized three ten-wheeler trucks involved in the smuggling of nearly 51 tons of wheat.
Continuing the crackdown, another team conducted a decisive operation and detained a vehicle being driven by a man identified as Mudassir Shah. The vehicle was found carrying 800 bags of 20-kilogram flour and 100 bags of 40-kilogram flour, which were being transported from Gujranwala to Kohat via Talagang, they added.
In a separate action, proactive Civil Defence intercepted vehicle number GZRA-625, driven by Waqas Khan. The vehicle was found carrying 800 bags of 20-kilogram flour and 100 bags of 40-kilogram flour.
The seized consignment was handed over to the administration and deposited at the Talagang Food Warehouse. The vehicle was transporting flour illegally from Jhang to Kohat, they pointed out.
