RAWALPINDI, Nov 13 (APP):Punjab Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bherth on Thursday said that the signal-free corridor project would greatly benefit the large population of Rawalpindi by resolving chronic traffic congestion issues in the city.
He expressed these views during his visit to review the ongoing construction work on the multi-billion-rupee project launched to improve traffic flow and urban connectivity.
The minister was briefed by officers of the Communication and Works Department that the Rs14 billion project included the remodelling of Kachehri Chowk, Iftikhar Janjua Chowk and Annexy Chowk, along with the construction of three underpasses and a flyover stretching from Rawat Chowk to Rashid Minhas Road.
Minister Bherth said that the project, to be completed within eight months, would not only ease congestion but also enhance mobility and accessibility across major city routes.
He added that the timely initiation of the project reflected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s special interest in improving traffic management and urban infrastructure across the province.
