SHEIKHUPURA, Aug 08 (APP):District officials in Sheikhupura on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection of vegetable and fruit markets to ensure the availability of affordable food items for the public.
According to DC Office, The visit was made on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief Secretary Punjab, Commissioner Lahore and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waqar Ali Khan.
Officers from the Secretary Market Committee, Agriculture, Municipal Committee, and other relevant departments were present during the inspection.
The officials reviewed the auction process and the overall supply chain to ensure fair prices for consumers.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waqar Ali Khan stated that providing affordable and quality goods to the public is a top priority for the district administration.
He emphasized the district’s commitment to controlling inflation and ensuring the delivery of affordable goods in vegetable markets.
The officials also reviewed the auction process to ensure transparency and fairness.
DC reiterated the district administration’s commitment to controlling the prices of food items including vegetables, fruits, meat, bread and other essential commodities in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
