SHCC officials visits HIV affected area in Keamari

KARACHI, Nov 06 (APP):The Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has taken immediate action following the report of a suspected HIV case at Kulsoom Bai Valika Hospital in Keamari District, Karachi.
Dr. Zubair Soomro, Director Anti-Quackery and his team of SHCC held a coordination meeting with Tariq Chandio, Deputy Commissioner Keamari and his team to strengthen regulatory enforcement, healthcare standards, and communicable disease prevention across the district.
According to the press release issued by spokesperson, the meeting highlighted concerns regarding the illegal de-sealing of quack outlets and the need to sustain government writ through coordinated enforcement.
It was agreed that SHCC, DC Office, SSP Keamari, and DHO will jointly conduct inspections of public and private hospitals, while a district-wide crackdown against unqualified practitioners will be launched with support from law enforcement agencies, and FIRs will immediately be registered against the violators.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that the spread of HIV is a serious threat and on instructions of the Minister of Health, the government of Sindh, district administration will provide full administrative and police support to SHCC, and Assistant Commissioners will assist Anti-Quackery teams during field actions.
