Shaukat Ali Yousafzai assumes charge as RTS commissioner
PESHAWAR, Sep 09 (APP):Retired PMS Grade-20 officer Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has assumed charge as Commissioner of the Right to Public Services Commission (RTS), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and pledged to ensure timely, transparent and improved delivery of public services to citizens.
Yousafzai brings extensive administrative experience to the position, having served as Commissioner Mardan, Commissioner Bannu, Commissioner Hazara and Commissioner Malakand. He hails from Swat and held several key administrative positions during his career.
After assuming charge, the newly appointed commissioner visited the RTS Commission headquarters and met the Chief Commissioner and other officers. He received a detailed briefing on the commission’s mandate, procedures, ongoing initiatives and public awareness activities.
Later, while chairing a meeting with the commission’s staff, Yousafzai said timely, transparent and citizen-oriented delivery of public services was essential for good governance.
He stressed that the RTS Commission must continue playing an effective role in protecting citizens’ legal right to receive notified public services within the stipulated time.
The commissioner said the commission needed to further promote modern technology, data-driven monitoring and effective public outreach to identify obstacles in service delivery, monitor performance and ensure accountability of relevant departments.
He said his priority would be to make the RTS system more accessible, efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly so that people could obtain government services without unnecessary delays, difficulties or hurdles.
The commission’s officers and employees welcomed Yousafzai as the new commissioner and expressed their resolve to work under his guidance to further strengthen and improve the Right to Public Services system across the province.
