NAWABSHAH, Oct 28 (APP):Shaheed Benazirabad Police conducted a major operation against inter-provincial drug traffickers, successfully foiling an attempt to smuggle large quantity of high-quality ice (crystal meth). Acting on a tip-off, police carried out the raid near village Qazi Amir Ali on Qazi Ahmed Road within the jurisdiction of Taluka Police Station.
During the operation, an exchange of fire took place between police and the smugglers. As a result, one smuggler was arrested in injured condition, while another managed to escape from the scene.
The arrested suspect was identified as Ali Gohar son of Saleh Muhammad, resident of Dera Allah Yar, Balochistan. The absconding suspect has been identified as Amir Ali son of unknown, efforts are underway to arrest him.
Police recovered 4,200 grams of high-quality ice, a motorcycle, and a pistol from the scene.
Police spokesperson said that according to initial investigations, the seized narcotics are valued at millions of rupees. Further interrogation of the arrested suspect is in progress, while raids are being conducted to apprehend the fugitive.
SSP Shaheed Benazirabad reaffirmed his determination to continue effective operations against drug traffickers and criminal networks across the district.
