HYDERABAD, Oct 09 (APP): The operation wing of the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) conducted a surprise raid on the well-known hotel, located on Thandi Sarak Hyderabad, and found severe violations of hygiene and food safety standards.
The authority’s spokesperson told that the inspection revealed expired, fungus-infested and unhygienic food items in the hotel’s kitchen. The team also observed the presence of cats and poor cleanliness arrangements.
According to the statement, during the operation, the hotel staff manhandled and tried to assault the inspection team, after which the authority took strict action against them.
Deputy Director SFA Hyderabad Dr. Asad Jahangir said the hotel administration had been fined Rs. 500,000 for gross violations of hygiene laws, and was directed to immediately dispose of all expired food items.
