MULTAN, Nov 26 (APP): Seven Chambers of Commerce of South Punjab have come together on one platform here Sunday for the economic development of the region and solving problems as MoU of ‘Alliance of Recognized Chambers of South Punjab’ has been signed.
Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf as patron in chief while MCCI president Mian Rashid Iqbal has been elected as the President of the Alliance for one year.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) under which each chamber will be given presidentship for a period of one year.
The office bearers of Chambers of Commerce of Multan, DG Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Vehari, Khanewal and Jhang including SVP MCCI Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, VP Muhammad Asim Saeed, Mian Farid Mugheez Sheikh, Khwaja Salahuddin, Khawaja Muhammad Usman, Fazal Elahi, Sheikh Faisal Saeed and others participated.
Addressing the ceremony, the newly elected president of the Alliance, Mian Rashid Iqbal welcomed the representatives and said that the sole objective of the Alliance was to create a conducive business environment and opportunities in the region.
The economic and industrial development of the region, infrastructure development, promotion of industry and trade, development of all other sectors like agriculture, tourism, information technology and E-commerce will be among top priorities. They will represent the business community of South Punjab, including corporate and SMEs without discrimination through the platform and work together to resolve their problems, he said.
Rahid Iqbal said that the joint meetings would be conducted from the Alliance’s platform and suggestions would be made and conveyed to the higher authorities so that the region could become the best region of Pakistan and play its role in the country’s economic development.
Patron in chief, Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf said that the dream of bringing the business community of South Punjab on one platform had been fulfilled. The seven Chambers of South Punjab will raise a common voice and work together to resolve problems, he added.
The presidents of other chambers also spoke and appreciated the steps taken for the business community.
Later, commemorative shields were also distributed among the chambers’ representatives.
