Seminar to eulogise services of Abdul Sattar Edhi held at SMIU

KARACHI, Jul 08 (APP):The noted academicians have paid a great homage to world known philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi at a seminar organised by Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) in connection with his 9th death anniversary on Tuesday.
The speakers said that the services of Abdul Sattar Edhi for humanity have given him immortal life and his services will be remembered for centuries.
Vice Chancellor SMIU Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai announced to name an academic block of SMIU’s Malir Campus to Abdul Sattar Edhi to put salute to his matchless services rendered for poor and underprivileged people of the country.
Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai said that Abdul Sattar Edhi was a perfect and complete philanthropist, who gave his whole life for humanity and never made any personal property. He was of the opinion that he had gone through the lives of various philanthropists of the world but never find any one like Abdul Sattar Edhi.
Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, Dean Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce of SMIU said that Abdul Sattar Edhi gave a name to orphan children and provided them shelter and education, that was his great work for humanity.
Dr. Subhash, Chairman Department of Social and Development Studies of SMIU in his speech traced the history of works done by philanthropists in Karachi city before and after Independence of Pakistan and said before Independence of Pakistan Harchandrai Vishandas and Jamshed Nasrwanji were known as great human servants, then after creation of Pakistan Abdul Sattar Edhi in his youthful age started to take care of poor, injured and needy persons of the city. That was his great contribution towards the service of humanity.
Uzma Batool presented life sketch of the Abdul Sattar Edhi and eulogized his services. Ms. Sundas Nisar conducted the proceedings of the event.
