SARGODHA, Jan 17 (APP):A seminar on the role of educational institutions in promoting good governance was organised by the University of Sargodha.
Brig (retd) Babar Alauddin (Sitara-e-Imtiaz Military), Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell Inspection Team, attended the event as the chief guest, besides Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.
Addressing the audience, Babar Alauddin said educational institutions were not only centres of knowledge but also play a pivotal role in social development. He underscored the importance of the positive and responsible use of social media for societal welfare.
Sargodha University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas remarked that universities were not just academic centres but also hubs of fostering societal change and promoting principles of good governance. He stressed the need to equip students not only with academic excellence but also with a sense of responsibility to contribute to the nation’s progress.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin stated that creating informed, responsible, and conscientious citizens is a key goal of educational institutions. He highlighted that universities offer a crucial platform for students to learn about the principles of good governance and play an active role in societal and governmental reforms.
