Seminar at Sindh University highlights women empowerment and gender equity

HYDERABAD, Oct 24 (APP):The Bureau of STAGS, University of Sindh organized a seminar on “Women Empowerment and Gender Equity” in the Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium on Friday.
According to the University spokesperson, the event brought together distinguished academicians, invited speakers and students from various departments. Pro-Vice Chancellor Thatta Campus participated as the Chief Guest.
The program featured insightful presentations by two notable speakers. Dr. Erum Shaikh delivered an engaging talk on women entrepreneurship, emphasizing its role in advancing economic independence and leadership opportunities for women. Following her, Dr. Ghazala Shoukat presented a thoughtful analysis on the political status of women in Pakistan, outlining key challenges and highlighting pathways for enhanced participation in governance and decision-making processes.
In his concluding remarks, Dean Faculty of Social Science Prof. Dr. Nanik Ram summarized the major themes discussed and underlined the need for sustained efforts towards gender equality.
A formal vote of thanks was then delivered by Dr. Shabana Tunio, who expressed appreciation to the chief guest, keynote speakers, organizers, volunteers and attendees for their meaningful contributions to the seminar’s success.
