Seerat conference at KMU highlights Prophet’s(PBUH) guidance for modern challenges
PESHAWAR, Sep 09 (APP):Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar concluded a Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) conference and a series of Quran recitation, Naat and speech competitions, with speakers calling for greater emphasis on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in youth character-building.
The KMU Islamic Society organised the event, which attracted a large participation of students, faculty members and administrative staff.
The competitions aimed to encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of the Seerat and apply its teachings to their daily lives.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Rubina Nazli, who attended the concluding ceremony as chief guest, distributed certificates and prizes among students who secured top positions in the competitions.
Addressing the gathering, Director Institute of Nursing Sciences Dr Najma Naz said the Seerat should serve as a practical guide for young people facing the challenges of contemporary society.
She said the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) offered a comprehensive model of Quranic teachings and taught values such as perseverance, hope, determination and trust in Allah.
Dr Najma Naz said educational institutions could play a vital role in strengthening students’ character by connecting academic learning with the moral and ethical values reflected in the Seerat.
Dr Rubina Nazli appreciated the organisers and participants and proposed making Seerat-related programmes a regular part of the university’s academic calendar.
She said genuine love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) should reflect in people’s character, conduct and service to humanity rather than remaining confined to speeches and slogans.
The vice chancellor stressed that educational institutions should incorporate Seerat studies into character-building and leadership development programmes to help prepare responsible and compassionate members of society.
