MIRPURKHAS, Jul 10 (APP):The district police has finalized the security plan regarding processions and congregations of Ashura.
SSP Mirpurkhas, Captain (R), Asad Ali Chaudhry told APP here on Wednesday that during holy month of Muharram, 445 majalis would be organized in the district, of which 110 majalis were declared sensitive and 107 mourning processions would be taken out, of which 23 declared sensitive.
More than 1500 police officers and jawans had been deployed in the district to supervise the assemblies and processions, he added.
Rangers and plainclothes police personnel had been deployed, the SSP said, adding the processions’ routes and congregations would also be monitored with the help of CCTV cameras.
He said the police would perform the duties while the National Action Plan would be implemented along with snap checking on the internal and external routes throughout the district,
The SSP appealed to the people to inform the police about any illegal activities and suspicious movement of persons so that timely action could be taken to foil nefarious plans of anti-social elements.
He said that flag marches were being conducted in all tehsil headquarters of of district along with Rangers.
