LAHORE, Jun 22 (APP): The Punjab government has planned to to ensure the security of Imambargahs and by installation of cameras along mourning procession routes.
In Lahore, comprehensive security arrangements are being finalised to ensure peaceful Muharram processions and gatherings.
The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 province-wide from 1st to 10th Muharram, with a ban on pillion riding on the 9th and 10th, except for women, senior citizens, and law-enforcement personnel.
These measures are aimed at maintaining law and order and preventing any untoward incidents during the holy month.
Furthermore, police official sources confirmed that DIG Operations Faisal Kamran visited Aiwan-e-Haider Niaz Baig on Sunday, inspected the routes of the procession and met Shia elders.
Meanwhile, SSP Operations Tasawur Iqbal and other officers accompanied DIG Operations, Faisal Kamran inspected the route plan of the main procession, DIG Operations also met with the organizers of gatherings and gatherings, Shia Akbars informed DIG Operations about the Muharram programs, Faisal Kamran assured the organizers of Imambargah of providing full security.
