Section 144 imposed on sale, use of drones due to security concerns in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, Dec 17 (APP):The district administration on Wednesday imposed Section 144 in Abbottabad, banning the sale, purchase, use and operation of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for two months due to security concerns.
According to an official notification, incidents of drones being flown near sensitive installations and public places have been reported, posing potential risks to public safety and security.
In view of the prevailing law and order situation, Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram ordered the imposition of Section 144 under the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The ban has come into effect immediately and will remain enforced for a period of two months. The administration warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators, who will be proceeded against under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
