Secretary livestock visits meat processing center

PESHAWAR, Nov 26 (APP): Secretary Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Tahir Orakzai on Wednesday visited Meat Processing and Training Center where he was briefed about existing facilities and training system.
He also visited various sections of the center that has been established in Peshawar with support of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
During the visit, Sectary Livestock were given a detailed briefing about facilities, modern equipment installed and training system in place.
The minister was told that Meat Processing and Training Center was developed in line with modern standards to ensure supply of high quality and safe meat to the public. He was informed that center would also play a significant role in training of individuals associated with meat sector.
On this occasion, secretary directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to operationalize the center under a public-private partnership aiming greater efficiency and improved management private sector collaboration.
He emphasized that providing clean, quality and healthy meat to consumers is among the top priorities of government and all available resources are being utilized to achieve this goal. He further stated that center would also help enhanced quality of meat for consumers.
