PESHAWAR, Oct 15 (APP): Secretary Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Masood Ahmad has termed the development of industrial sector as crucial for province’s sustainable economic growth emphasizing that investment in industrialization is need of the time.
He expressed these views during his visit to Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) on Kohat Road here Wednesday.
Managing Director Abdul Hameed Khan, Director Finance Basheer Ahmad, Deputy Managing Directors Zulfiqar Ali Sahibzada and Nauman Fayyaz, Project Director Abdul Rehman Khan and Muhammad Mushtaq from Pak-German Center were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, MD SIDP briefed the secretary in detail about the SIDB’s performance, responsibilities, targets and professional activities.
The Secretary appreciated the role of board stating that SIDB has a recognized contribution in the promotion and development of small scale industries across the province.
He added that promotion of large and small industries plays an equally vital role in strengthening the industrial base and creating employment opportunities.
Later, secretary also visited the Pak-German Wood Working Centre where he took special interest in the training section and lauded vocational skill development initiatives being undertaken at the center.
