PESHAWAR, Jul 25 (APP):The second phase of Tirich Mir trekking expedition organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) and Tirich Mir Backpacker Club started from Chitral.
The second group of trekkers that left Chitral for Tirich Mir Base camp, included 20 trekkers. The group would follow the route from Chitral via Moroi, Koghzi, and Reshun to reach Gulgari Pakhturi where they will spend night. On the next day, they would proceed from Oveer Shabroonz and set up camp at Shokhorshal before heading to Tirich Mir base camp on the final day.
Lower Chitral Deputy Commissioner Rao Hashim Azim welcomed the trekkers and extended best wishes for their journey. He said that such trekking expeditions would contribute significantly to the local economy benefiting hotels and porters in the region.
He appreciated the KPCTA’s efforts for organizing a successful event, saying that the initiative would yield long-term positive results and attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to Chitral and Tirich Mir.
