HYDERABAD, Nov 03 (APP): In a series of successful operations, Shaheed Benazirabad Police arrested three notorious dacoits during separate encounters in different police jurisdictions on the same day.
According to police spokesperson, the SHO of Qazi Ahmed Police Station and his team were on routine patrol when they encountered a group of armed dacoits preparing to commit a robbery. Upon seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire and in response. Police retaliated effectively.
During exchange of fire, one notorious criminal was injured and arrested. The injured suspect was identified as Zafar Hussain Waswano, who, along with his accomplices, was involved in numerous robbery and theft cases across various areas. Police recovered a pistol and several rounds from his possession. He was wanted in multiple serious criminal cases, including robbery, dacoity, and police encounters.
In another operation, the Daur Police intercepted a group of suspects along the Nawabshah Link Road following a tip-off about their presence with criminal intent. When the police arrived, the dacoits opened fire. Police personnel, displaying courage and professionalism, returned fire, injuring one of the suspects who was later arrested. The injured suspect was identified as Nadir alias Naro Jatoi, who was shifted to Civil Hospital for medical treatment. A 30-bore pistol and bullets were recovered from his possession, while his two accomplices escaped under the cover of darkness.
During initial interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to his involvement in multiple robberies and thefts in Nawabshah City and surrounding areas. Police sources confirmed that just a day earlier, Nadir and his gang had robbed a shop in the Qazi Ahmed area, the incident was captured on CCTV.
In a third encounter on the same day, Pubjo Police came under fire from unidentified armed men during a routine checkpoint inspection. The police responded with effective counter fire, injuring one of the attackers who was arrested on the spot. The injured suspect was identified as Mano Chandio, while his two accomplices managed to flee. The injured suspect was shifted to hospital for medical treatment, and a search operation has been launched to track down the escaped criminals.
The police department reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order in the district and ensuring the safety of citizens through continued vigilance and prompt action against criminal elements.
