HYDERABAD, Feb 05 (APP):On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam organized a rally to express unwavering solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
The event highlighted the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, with students delivering speeches reaffirming their support for the just cause of the Kashmiri people.
The rally was organized under the Students–Teachers Engagement Program and proceeded from the Dr A.M. Shaikh Auditorium to the Faculty of Crop Production. It was led by Vice Chancellor Sindh Agriculture University, Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal. The rally witnessed participation from deans of various faculties, heads of academic and administrative departments, faculty members, as well as a large number of male and female students.
Addressing the gathering at a ceremony held in the Dr A.M. Shaikh Auditorium, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal emphasized that solidarity with the Kashmiri people is a national, moral, and humanitarian obligation. He stated that the hearts of Kashmiris and Pakistanis beat as one. Referring to the partition agreement, he said that Muslim-majority regions were meant to accede to Pakistan; however, India forcibly occupied Kashmir as well as regions such as Junagadh and Hyderabad Deccan.
The Vice Chancellor further stated that India has martyred thousands of innocent Kashmiris and continues to perpetrate human rights violations in the region. Highlighting India’s violations of the Indus Waters Treaty, he said that attempts were made to block Pakistan’s water resources and to use the waters of the Chenab, Ravi, and Jhelum rivers as a tool of pressure, but such actions will ultimately fail.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman STEP Program Prof Dr Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar said that the Kashmiri people are courageously struggling for their right to self-determination and that Indian oppression can never weaken their resolve. He emphasized that the people of Sindh, along with the entire Pakistani nation, stand firmly in solidarity with the Kashmiris. He expressed hope that Kashmir would, Insha’Allah, become part of Pakistan.
Student speakers, including Ms Kausar, Himmat Pusio, and others, also addressed the gathering and spoke passionately in support of the Kashmiri cause. The event was attended by Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Prof Dr Ghiasuddin Shah, Director Food Science and Technology Dr Aijaz Hussain Soomro, Director IT Center, Dr Mir Sajjad Talpur, Dr Piyar Ali Shar, and Dr Shahzor Ali, along with faculty members, students, and representatives of various departments.
