SAU, DUHS sign MoU for joint research in poultry diseases, biotechnology, nutrition

HYDERABAD, Jul 15 (APP):Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam and Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) Karachi have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaborative research and academic exchange. The agreement focuses on advancing joint research in poultry diseases, biotechnology and nutritional sciences, while also supporting postgraduate research and faculty-student exchange programs.
The SAU spokesperson said on Tuesday that the MoU signing ceremony took place at DUHS Karachi in the presence of DUHS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jehan Ara. The document was formally signed by SAU Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi and DUHS Registrar Dr. Ashar Afaque. Senior academic leaders including Prof. Dr. Nasir Rajput, Chairman, Department of Poultry Husbandry at SAU, and Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Hussain, Principal, College of Biotechnology at DUHS also witnessed the ceremony.
As per the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on interdisciplinary research initiatives related to poultry science and biotechnology, offer reciprocal access to laboratory facilities, co-supervise postgraduate research and jointly organize seminars, workshops and training programs aimed at promoting academic excellence.
Vice Chancellor of SAU, Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal congratulated both institutions on this strategic collaboration. He highlighted the importance of scientific research on the nutritional value and health impacts of food, describing the partnership as a vital step toward enhancing research quality and contributing meaningfully to the growth of the poultry sector in Sindh and across the country.
