Sarfraz Bugti reaffirms commitment to ensure investment-friendly environment

QUETTA, Nov 11 (APP): Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed the Balochistan government’s commitment to fostering a secure and investment-friendly environment to attract investment in the province.
The Chief Minister presided over the 8th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT), held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, BBoIT Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar, CEO Qaim Khan Lashari, and other key stakeholders.
In the meeting, several strategic decisions were taken to enhance trade and investment across the province.
The meeting has approved the Bostan Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Council, aimed at strengthening coordination between the provincial government and Chinese investors, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.
“The activation of Special Economic Zones will generate employment and boost the local economy,” Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti added.
He described the Bostan SEZ as a cornerstone of Balochistan’s industrial future.
The Chief Minister emphasized that sustainable investment is key to the province’s long-term development. The Board approved several measures to improve institutional performance including ratification of the newly appointed CEO.
The meeting focused on structural rationalization of BBoIT, including the removal of redundant positions to enhance efficiency.
The meeting emphasized a unanimous commitment to strengthen both national and international investment efforts.
CM Bugti also highlighted the transparent and modern utilization of Balochistan’s natural resources, positioning the province on a path toward economic self-sufficiency.
“We are committed to making Balochistan a hub for sustainable investment and inclusive development,” Mir Sarfaraz Bugti concluded.
