Sanghar police deploy 2,685 personnel for Muharram security

SANGHAR, Jun 23 (APP):Sanghar police have finalised a comprehensive security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram 2026 to maintain law and order, ensure religious harmony, and safeguard mourners across the district.
According to police officials, a total of 2,685 police officers and personnel will be deployed throughout the district during Muharram.
Under the plan, 1,055 personnel will be assigned to secure 201 processions, while 148 personnel will be deployed at 74 Imambargahs. Security arrangements for 11 Tazia processions will be managed by 44 personnel.
For effective surveillance and patrolling, 290 personnel operating 38 police mobiles and 50 motorcycles will remain on continuous duty. In addition, 95 personnel will be stationed at sensitive and key locations, while 54 personnel will remain in reserve to deal with any emergency situation.
To ensure swift response, seven Quick Response Force (QRF) teams comprising 88 trained personnel have been constituted. For women’s processions and gatherings, 121 lady police personnel will be deployed to manage security and screening duties.
Traffic management during processions will be handled by 60 traffic police officials to ensure smooth flow and the provision of alternative routes.
The police administration stated that Sanghar Police remains fully alert and committed to ensuring peaceful observance of Muharram. All processions and religious gatherings will be closely monitored, and strict action will be taken against any elements attempting to disturb public order.
Citizens and organisers have been urged to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and security throughout the month of Muharram.
