SALU Organizes Workshop on Outcome Based Education
SUKKUR, Sep 16 (APP):The Institute of Computer Science (ICS), Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur, organized a one day workshop on “Effective Implementation of Outcome Based Education” for faculty members at FYP-Lab on Wednesday.
Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk graced the occasion as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khushk said the workshop strengthened faculty capacity to align teaching with measurable learning outcomes.
He said formulation of CLOs and PLOs, their mapping and assessment of attainment are essential competencies, and such training ensures lecture delivery is linked to defined outcomes.
He said the ultimate objective of OBE is to produce graduates who create impact on society and that assessment rubrics and CQI mechanisms will help bridge gaps between degrees and societal impact.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Wazir Ali Jamro, Assistant Professor, QUEST Nawabshah. It was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Samina Rajper, Director ICS, and Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences.
Dean Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh said OBE is now being implemented in most institutions, where the student is the product whose quality needs to be checked.
Director ICS Dr. Samina Rajper thanked the Vice Chancellor, trainer and faculty in her vote of thanks.
Dr. Ali Raza Lashari conducted the proceedings. Shields were presented to the guests while certificates were distributed among faculty members including Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Javed Ahmed Mahar, Dr. Rafaqat Arain and others.
