MURREE, Feb 19 (APP):The Murree district administration, following the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has opened a Ramazan Sahulat Bazaar to supply residents with essential items at subsidised rates during the holy month, officials said on Thursday.
The Bazaar has been set up near the Murree Bus Stand, with Assistant Commissioner Arshad Iqbal appointed as the focal person. In addition, Ramazan Negahban Dastarkhwans have been arranged at three locations in Murree Tehsil and two in Kotli Sattian Tehsil, in collaboration with local philanthropists, to offer meals to deserving families.
Deputy Commissioner Murree, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, said the initiative aimed to ensure public relief and prevent profiteering. “In line with the chief minister’s directives, the district administration, with the support of philanthropists, has set up Sahulat Bazaar and Negahban Dastarkhwans. Citizens will be provided essential items at reasonable rates, and our offices remain open to serve the public,” he added.
The administration has also completed beautification works across the district to reflect the spirit and sanctity of Ramazan.
