LAHORE, Jul 22 (APP):Saghar Siddiqui was a poetic luminary with a profound social conscience whose every ghazal contains verses that illuminate the malign forces besieging
society.
This sentiment was eloquently articulated by Raza Naeem during a special discourse
entitled ‘Saghar Siddiqui (1928-1974), The Poet of Darkness and Consciousness: The Man and the Myth,’ commemorating the 50th anniversary of the revered poet’s demise.
Naeem, a translator and the President of the Progressive Writers Association in Lahore,
highlighted various aspects of Saghar’s poetry.
