RAHIM YAR KHAN, Jul 08 (APP):The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Rahim Yar Khan has launched a crackdown on Tuesday on private ambulances and rent-a-cars carrying LPG cylinders.
According to DC office, on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khurram Pervez, Secretary RTA Riyaz Ali, along with DSP Traffic Muhammad Sajid, took action against vehicles using LPG cylinders as fuel.
During the operation, 23 LPG cylinders were removed from ambulances and rental cars and taken into official custody.
The authorities have warned that using LPG as fuel in vehicles is illegal and prohibited, and those found violating the rules will face strict action, including registration of cases against vehicle owners.
The Secretary RTA has appealed to citizens not to travel in vehicles with installed LPG cylinders and to support the government’s campaign by identifying such vehicles. The authorities have assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
The RTA has vowed to continue its crackdown on vehicles using LPG cylinders, including taking action against those who refill LPG in vehicles. The authorities aim to ensure public safety and enforce the law strictly.
