In view of the ongoing International T20 Tri-Nation Series in Rawalpindi, a dedicated cleanliness drive is also underway at the cricket stadium and surrounding areas to provide a clean and pleasant environment for spectators.
“The Tri-Nation T20 cricket series is an international event, and we are trying to present Rawalpindi in its best light to the world,” he said, adding that public cooperation was vital for achieving the best results.
The spokesman said that, owing to concerns of dust and smog, RWMC teams were undertaking extensive mud scraping and road washing on major highways, intersections and streets to minimise airborne particles. Water sprinkling was being conducted to keep dust levels low, while communication teams were actively engaged in door-to-door and market awareness campaigns in Union Council 07, Pir Wadhai.
Pamphlets detailing precautionary measures against smog are being distributed, and citizens are being urged to cooperate with sanitation staff. They have also been informed about the company’s helpline 1139 and RWMC’s social media platforms for the prompt registration of complaints.
The spokesman added that the grand sanitation operation was continuing at full pace in 22 tehsils of the Rawalpindi division, where field teams were ensuring regular waste clearance, drain cleaning, road washing, and mud scraping.
