Rs200.104billion for police in FY2025-26 budget

LAHORE, Jun 16 (APP):The Punjab government has earmarked Rs 200.104 billion as the non-development budget for the Punjab Police in the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, reflecting a 6.8% increase from the previous year’s allocation of Rs 187.365 billion.
According to budget documents released on Monday, Rs 167.407 billion has been set aside for employee-related expenses. This includes Rs 64.923 billion for salaries and Rs 102.484 billion for allowances.
In addition, the budget allocates Rs 21.791 billion for operating expenses, Rs 1.013 billion for retirement benefits, Rs 3.468 billion for grants, subsidies and loan write-offs, Rs 372 million for transfers, Rs 2.781 billion for physical assets, and Rs 3.251 billion for repair and maintenance.
The increased allocation underscores the government’s focus on improving law enforcement infrastructure and addressing operational needs of the police force.
