LAHORE, Jun 16 (APP):The Punjab government has earmarked Rs 53.166 billion for the administration of justice in the fiscal year 2025-26, marking an increase of nearly 11.97 per cent over last year’s allocation.
According to the budget documents released on Monday, Rs 11.536 billion has been allocated for the Lahore High Court while Rs 41.632 billion has been reserved for the lower judiciary. This includes sessions courts, civil courts, special courts, courts of small causes, labour courts, the Punjab Appellate Tribunal-II Multan, the Punjab Appellate Tribunal Lahore, as well as various legal departments such as the Advocate General’s Office, the Solicitor Department, the Mufassil Establishment, and the Punjab Judicial Academy.
The allocated funds will cover employees’ salaries and allowances, operating expenses, retirement benefits, physical assets, and maintenance.
In comparison, the provincial government had allocated Rs 47.48 billion for justice administration in the 2024-25 budget.
