Rs 28,000 fine imposed on vendors for selling substandard items

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Feb 23 (APP):The district administration has launched a crackdown against profiteers, imposing a Rs 28,000 fine on several vendors and shopkeepers for selling adulterated products.
According to the administration, the joint operation was led by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Iftikhar Ahmad and included officials and veterinary doctors from the Halal Food Authority and the livestock department.
It says the inspections were conducted at Shah Alam Abad Chowk and along Multan Road, where milk sellers and food outlets were thoroughly checked.
During the inspection, milk quality was tested using modern digital devices and chemical testing methods.
The cooking oil used by samosa and pakora vendors was also examined.
As a result, vendors found selling substandard or adulterated products were fined a total of Rs 28,000 on the spot.
Authorities issued strict warnings to all shopkeepers, stating that milk adulteration, the sale of substandard food items, and violations of hygiene standards would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
They said that strict legal action would be taken without discrimination against violators.
The district administration has reiterated its commitment to protecting public health and said that anti-adulteration operations would continue without interruption
