Rs 27.9b spent on 103 health schemes in South Punjab

MULTAN, Jun 17 (APP):Special Secretary Health and Population, South Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Hussain, said on Tuesday that 103 schemes of health and population departments were underway under Annual Development Plan (ADP) 2024-25 and 89 of them were near completion, recording fund utilization at Rs 27.9 billion, 83 per cent of the total Rs 33.69 billion funding.
Presiding over a development review meeting, the secretary said that enforcement of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s ‘Healthy Punjab’ vision necessitates timely completion of ongoing schemes without compromising on quality of work and material as per orders of secretary health Punjab, Nadia Saqib.
The meeting discussed in detail the targets set under ADP 2024-25, challenges faced during execution and strategy for the future.
The secretary said that special initiatives should be taken to complete the schemes in a specified period to make state-of-the-art health facilities available to the people of south Punjab at their doorsteps.
Additional Secretary Shahid Abbas Joiya, deputy secretaries Sajjad Husnain, Sheikh Muhammad Tahir, and Sabir Hussain, Section Officer Coordination Asadullah Shahzad, and planning officers Tanveer Ahmad and Kamran Shahzad were present.
