Rs.10 billion released for “Apni Chat Apni Ghar” scheme

LAHORE, Dec 26 (APP): The Punjab government on Friday has released Rs.10 billion for the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” housing scheme and Rs.5 billion for the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities.
Finance Department sources confirmed that the funds have been transferred online to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to facilitate immediate relief efforts and rehabilitation for those impacted by recent floods.
The “Apni Chat Apna Ghar”initiative,launched by Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was a major housing program aimed at providing secure,affordable homes for low-income and middle-class families across Punjab.
The scheme offers interest-free loans and ensures a transparent distribution process,helping make home ownership achievable for thousands of deserving families.
This move was part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to address housing shortages and support flood victims in the wake of recent natural disasters.
