RAWALPINDI, Jan 29 (APP):The Rawalpindi Regional Police Coordination Committee (RRPC) focused on crime prevention and security measures for the Holy Month of Ramazan during its monthly meeting on Thursday at Police Lines Headquarters.
The meeting was chaired by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani. Deputy Police Officers (DPOs) from all districts in the region, along with heads of Safe City, Special Police Units, Counter-Terrorism Department, City Traffic Office, Rawalpindi Investigation Branch, Punjab Forensic Science Agency, and other units, participated in person and via video link.
RPO Hamdani emphasised effective policing to maintain law and order, ensure security during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, and prevent crime.
He called for an intensified crackdown against kite suppliers and kite flying, continued robust action and effective investigation against drug traffickers, and enhanced protection for Pakistani and foreign citizens, including closer monitoring of sensitive sites and faster search and combing operations.
The RPO instructed that first information reports (FIRs) should be registered in accordance with standard operating procedures, investigations conducted on merit, and challans submitted to courts promptly.
A workshop was also planned at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) to familiarise investigation officers with the procedure for submitting parcels and related stansard operating procedures.
Further directives included accelerating action against illegal foreign nationals, ensuring timely resolution of complaints through the complaint portal, and improving traffic management and tourist facilities in Murree amid current weather conditions.
A Rawalpindi Police spokesman said the measures aimed to enhance security, law enforcement effectiveness, and public safety throughout the region.
